Teaser Sequence

The camera pulls back over a grand English university and settles on a small residence. Inside, a college professor is at work in his study when his wife asks him if he's coming along to church. To her annoyance he declines, stating that he has agreed to see one of his students - George. She leaves and George arrives - who turns out to be an attractive young girl.

Plot Summary

College Professor Michael Lane plots to kill his wife and things seems to go off without a hitch when he begins receiving alarming blackmail messages from an unknown person. Each time he silences who he believes to be his tormentor, the messages return and he becomes ever more frantic to unmask the blackmailer.

Comments

Despite the promising title, there isn't much to recommend here. Events unfold far too predictably and the ending is very low-key indeed and rather unsatisfying. Probably my least favourite episode.
